Club Mudgee Max Potential Mudgee-Kandos-Gulgong Commences
The 2018 Club Mudgee Max Potential Mudgee-Kandos-Gulgong program kicks off in February
This empowering and transformational leadership development program for young adults from four Mudgee region schools embarks on its 12th year.
The 22 week program commences with training for the local volunteer community coaches on Saturday 10th of February. The first session with the young adults will be held on Monday 26th February. Club Mudgee is the major program partner and venue for all group sessions.
We have once again attracted a talented group of volunteers who will be giving their time and experience to support the year ten students on their leadership and development journey.
A key aspect of the program encourages students to focus on the local community by implementing a community service project. This phase will commence at the end of May.
The final session of the program will take place on the evening of Friday 3rd August. This will be a Showcase Expo of the young adults’ Max Potential journeys based around a display of their community service projects, demonstrating their creative talents and personal growth. We invite the community to attend the Showcase so lock the 3rd August in your diary now.
As well as supporting local young adults, coaches benefit from their own personal development and learning a coaching framework that can be applied to their professional and personal lives.
The schools involved in the program are Mudgee High School, St Matthews Catholic School, Kandos High School and Gulgong High School.
We have a couple of places still available for year 10 school students. Final applications must close when these places are filled or no later than Tuesday 13th February. Contact your high school for more details.
If you are interested in volunteering to be a community coach for any additional students contact the Max Potential program manager, Damian Walsh, on 0421 618 912 this week.
In addition to major partner, Club Mudgee, the program is proudly supported by Mid-Western Regional Council, Clubs NSW, Peter Druitt & Co, Glencore Ulan Coal, Wilpinjong Mine (Peabody) and Moolarben Coal.

Max Potential is a dynamic person leadership coaching program bringing our local youths and adults together in a life-changing way. Over six months 13 local grade 10 students, from four different High Schools, are receiving both individual and group coaching sessions aimed at helping them discover their true potential, reach their own personal goals and become the kind of confident individuals they hope to be. As part of the program they also set their focus on caring for others but developing and implementing their own Community Service Projects. This means that 13 projects will happen this year to enhance our community under the leadership of these young people.
Club Mudgee has proudly sponsored this program for many years due to the tangible difference it makes in the lives of both the young people, their coaches and the community overall.
